1. General disclaimer — information is for educational purposes only
All content on meyy.info — including the 36 pricing calculators, the 33 in-depth guides, the methodology documentation, the pricing glossary, and any other articles, tables, examples, or commentary — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is designed to help freelancers, makers, and small-business operators understand the underlying cost models behind pricing decisions, to expose the formulas that produce a defensible price, and to provide context on industry benchmarks drawn from public sources.
The Site is a publisher of educational content. We are not a consulting firm, a financial-services firm, a tax-preparation firm, a law firm, an accounting firm, or a registered investment adviser. We do not provide individualised advice, recommendations, or opinions tailored to your specific situation. The fact that we publish a calculator that produces a specific recommended price for a specific industry does not mean that price is the right price for you. The price is the output of a model — it is only as good as the inputs and only as applicable as the model's assumptions are to your situation.
You should not act on any content of the Site without first independently verifying the underlying assumptions, formulas, and benchmarks against your own situation and against current public sources. Pricing benchmarks change — platform fees increase, tax thresholds shift, trade-association surveys are updated, regional cost-of-living differentials narrow or widen. We update our content on a quarterly cadence and publish corrections within 48 hours of being reported, but we cannot guarantee that every benchmark on the Site is current on the day you read it. Always cross-check the figure against the cited primary source before acting on it.
2. No financial advice
Nothing on this Site constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or accounting advice. The calculators are not financial models in the sense used by professional financial advisers — they do not project future revenue, they do not model cash flow, they do not compute net present value or internal rate of return, they do not account for tax-loss harvesting or asset allocation, and they do not consider your personal financial situation, risk tolerance, or investment objectives.
Specifically, our pricing calculators compute a recommended price based on a true-cost-of-doing-business model: they take your material cost, your labour hours and rate, your overhead, your target profit margin, and any relevant fees, and they compute the price you need to charge to recover your costs and hit your profit target. That computation is a pricing recommendation, not a financial projection. It does not tell you whether the resulting price will be accepted by your market, whether it will produce sustainable cash flow, or whether it is the right price for your long-term financial goals.
If you are making significant financial decisions — taking on debt to grow your business, setting a multi-year pricing strategy, structuring your business entity, planning for retirement as a self-employed person, managing a significant cash windfall — please consult a qualified financial adviser who is registered with the appropriate regulatory authority in your jurisdiction (in the United States, the Securities and Exchange Commission or a state securities regulator). We do not provide such advice and we are not licensed to provide such advice.
3. No professional advice — not a substitute for a CPA, attorney, or business advisor
Our content is not a substitute for the advice of a qualified professional. Specifically:
- Tax advice. Several of our calculators and guides reference tax concepts — self-employment tax, quarterly estimated payments, sales tax on handmade goods, cottage food law thresholds, IRS standard mileage rates, Section 179 depreciation. These references are for educational context only. We are not CPAs or enrolled agents, and we do not provide tax advice. Tax law is complex, varies by jurisdiction, and changes frequently. For tax advice specific to your situation, consult a CPA, an enrolled agent, or a tax attorney in your jurisdiction.
- Legal advice. Some of our guides reference legal concepts — cottage food laws, contractor classification, licensing thresholds for trades, consumer-protection regulations, contract terms. These references are for educational context only. We are not attorneys, and we do not provide legal advice. For legal advice specific to your situation, consult an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction.
- Accounting advice. Our content references accounting concepts — cost of goods sold, gross margin, net margin, overhead allocation, profit vs. cash flow. These references are for educational context only. We are not accountants, and we do not provide accounting advice. For accounting advice specific to your business, consult a CPA or a qualified bookkeeper.
- Business consulting advice. We are not business consultants. We do not review your pricing spreadsheet, audit your cost model, or provide one-on-one pricing coaching. Our calculators are self-serve tools designed to be used without our intervention. If you need personalised business advice, consider engaging a small-business consultant or — in the United States — a SCORE mentor, who provides free small-business mentoring.
- Insurance advice. Some of our guides reference insurance concepts — general liability, professional liability (errors and omissions), workers' compensation. These references are for educational context only. We are not licensed insurance agents, and we do not provide insurance advice. For insurance advice specific to your business, consult a licensed insurance broker in your jurisdiction.
No member of the meyy.info editorial team is a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, CPA, tax attorney, or licensed insurance agent in your jurisdiction. Nothing on this Site creates an advisory, fiduciary, or professional relationship between you and us. If you need professional advice, you must engage a qualified professional directly.
4. Accuracy disclaimer — benchmarks are estimates, not guarantees
Every dollar figure, fee percentage, and benchmark range on this Site is drawn from a public, verifiable source — typically the U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE, the Freelancers Union, the Internal Revenue Service, the Professional Photographers of America, the National Restaurant Association, the American Translators Association, the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild, the National Candle Association, the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, the International Cake Exploration Societé, the National Association for Catering and Events, platform-issued fee schedules (Etsy, tutoring platforms, payment processors), or state-level cottage food law statutes. The specific source for each figure is cited inline in the relevant guide.
However, even sourced benchmarks are estimates, not guarantees. Benchmark ranges reflect what is typical for an industry at a moment in time — they do not predict what your specific business will achieve, what your specific market will bear, or what your specific competitors will charge. A benchmark range of "$1,500 to $3,500 for a wedding photography package" in a given region does not mean your wedding photography package will sell at $1,500, $3,500, or any figure in between. It means that those figures represent the typical range observed in the cited survey or trade-association data. Your package may sell for more or for less, depending on your market, your portfolio, your reputation, your service mix, your booking volume, and dozens of other factors our calculators do not model.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that the figures on the Site are accurate and current as of the date of publication. We review every calculator and guide on a quarterly cadence and we publish corrections within 48 hours of a critical error being reported. But we do not warrant that any figure on the Site is error-free, current, or applicable to your situation. You should always verify any figure against the cited primary source before acting on it. If you spot an error, please report it — see our corrections policy for the reporting process.
5. External links disclaimer
The Site contains links to third-party websites — including the public sources cited in our guides, third-party services used in the operation of the Site (Google AdSense, Google Fonts, the Tailwind Play CDN), and other resources we believe may be useful to our readers. These links are provided for convenience and reference only. We do not control these third-party websites, we do not endorse their content, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability.
Your use of any third-party website is at your own risk and is subject to that website's terms of service and privacy policy. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party website before using it. The inclusion of a link to a third-party website does not constitute an endorsement of that website, its owner, or its content. The removal of a link from the Site does not imply any negative judgment about the linked website.
If you believe a third-party website we link to has engaged in misleading, infringing, or unlawful conduct, please report it to us at contact@meyy.info and we will review whether to continue linking to it.
6. Testimonials & case studies disclaimer
From time to time, our guides may include worked numerical examples drawn from the experiences of working practitioners on our editorial team or contributors who have shared their pricing decisions with us. These examples are presented for illustrative purposes only — to show how a particular calculator applies to a particular set of inputs in a particular industry. They are not testimonials in the sense of paid endorsements, and they are not guarantees that you will achieve similar results.
Where a worked example attributes a result to a specific practitioner, that practitioner is a real person who has personally used the calculator on their own business. We do not pay practitioners for worked examples, and we do not accept worked examples that have been edited to make a calculator look better than it is. We do not present aggregate testimonials, "verified buyer" reviews, or star ratings — those formats are not appropriate for an educational publisher of pricing tools.
If a worked example is based on real client work but the practitioner prefers not to be named, we present the example anonymously (e.g., "a wedding photographer in the Pacific Northwest with five years of experience"). The numbers are real; only the identifying details have been removed. If you would like to contribute a worked example from your own client work, please contact us.
7. Affiliate disclaimer — we have NO affiliate links on this Site
For absolute clarity: meyy.info does not use affiliate links anywhere on the Site. We do not participate in any affiliate program. We do not earn commissions on clicks, purchases, signups, or referrals. We do not display links with affiliate tracking codes. We do not publish "best of" or "top 10" listicles that rank products by referral payout. We do not accept payment for placement in our calculators or guides. We do not accept sponsored content.
This is a deliberate editorial choice, documented in our editorial policy. Many pricing-tool websites on the internet are affiliate sites — their business model is to publish calculators and "best of" lists that funnel readers to a small number of paying partners, with the publisher earning a commission on each conversion. That business model creates an inherent incentive to recommend the highest-paying partner rather than the best option for the reader, and it is incompatible with our mission of publishing defensible, independent pricing math. We have rejected it.
Our revenue comes entirely from clearly labelled display advertising (currently Google AdSense). Advertisers have no influence over our calculator formulas, our benchmark numbers, our guide recommendations, or our editorial content. See the advertising disclaimer below and our editorial policy for the full separation between advertising and editorial.
If you ever see a link on meyy.info that you believe is an affiliate link — that is, a link that includes a tracking parameter (such as ?aff=, ?ref=, ?via=, or a known affiliate-network domain like shareasale.com, impact.com, awin1.com, amazon.com/<tag>-20) — please report it. It would be a serious editorial-policy violation and we would remove it within 24 hours of verification.
8. Advertising disclosure
Meyy.info is supported by display advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertising may appear in the header, sidebar, between content sections, and in the footer of pages on the Site. All advertising is clearly labelled as "Advertisement" or "Sponsored" and is visually separated from editorial content. Advertising never appears inside calculator results, never inside calculator input panels, and never inside the worked-example or benchmark sections of guides.
The specific ads you see are selected by Google's advertising algorithms, not by us. Google uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ads Settings at www.google.com/settings/ads or the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out at www.aboutads.info/choices. See our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy for details.
We do not allow advertisers to target specific calculator results, to sponsor specific guides or calculators, or to review, edit, or approve editorial content. The advertising team (such as it is — we are a small editorial operation) and the editorial team operate independently, and the editorial team has final say on all content decisions. Advertisers have no influence over calculator formulas, benchmark numbers, or guide recommendations. See our editorial policy for the full conflict-of-interest policy.
The presence of an ad on the Site does not constitute an endorsement of the advertised product or service. We do not control which ads Google serves and we do not necessarily agree with the claims made in those ads. If you see an ad that you believe is misleading, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate — particularly an ad for a product or service that conflicts with our editorial mission (e.g., a "get rich quick" scheme, a predatory lending product, an AI content-generation service marketed as a substitute for human writers) — please report it to contact@meyy.info and we will escalate it to the advertising network and, where possible, block the advertiser.
9. YMYL acknowledgment — pricing affects financial stability, use with caution
Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines classify content that "could significantly impact the health, financial stability, or safety of a person's life" as "Your Money or Your Life" (YMYL) content. Pricing content — particularly pricing for services that constitute a person's livelihood (freelance work, small-business operations, professional services) — falls squarely within the YMYL category. A wrong pricing decision can cost a working professional thousands of dollars per year, can erode business sustainability, and in extreme cases can lead to business failure and personal financial hardship.
We take this responsibility seriously. Our editorial policy documents the standards we hold ourselves to — originality, accuracy, transparency, independence, and quarterly review cadence — and we believe those standards meet or exceed what a reader should expect from a YMYL publisher. But no amount of editorial diligence can change the underlying fact that pricing is a high-stakes decision that you make at your own risk.
Specifically, we want to be explicit about the following YMYL considerations:
- Pricing affects income. If you underprice, you may not earn enough to cover your costs or to sustain your business. If you overprice, you may lose clients and earn less than you would have at a lower price. Either error can affect your financial stability.
- Pricing affects cash flow. A profitable price on paper does not guarantee positive cash flow. If your clients pay slowly, if your costs are front-loaded, or if your volume is uneven, even a "correct" price may not produce sustainable cash flow.
- Pricing interacts with tax. The price you charge affects your revenue, which affects your taxable income, which affects your tax liability. Our calculators do not model tax — see the "no tax advice" disclaimer above.
- Pricing interacts with legal compliance. In some jurisdictions, certain pricing practices are regulated — price-fixing agreements, deceptive pricing, discriminatory pricing, minimum-wage and overtime considerations for employees. Our calculators do not model legal compliance — see the "no legal advice" disclaimer above.
- Pricing interacts with insurance. If you are charging for a service, you may need different or additional insurance coverage. Our calculators do not model insurance — see the "no insurance advice" disclaimer above.
If you are making a significant pricing decision — particularly one that affects your primary source of income — we strongly encourage you to consult a qualified professional before acting on any output from this Site. SCORE mentors are free in the United States; many trade associations offer member pricing consultations; CPAs and small-business advisors can review your specific situation for a fee that is often small relative to the financial stakes of the decision.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, neither meyy.info nor its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, or suppliers shall be liable to you or to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or reliance on, the content of the Site — including but not limited to damages for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost data, business interruption, or the cost of substitute products or services. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based — whether contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise — and regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Because the Site is provided free of charge, your sole and exclusive remedy for any dissatisfaction with the Site or its content is to stop using the Site. The aggregate liability of meyy.info for any and all claims arising out of your use of the Site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). See Section 7 of our Terms of Service for the full limitation-of-liability provision.
11. Use at your own risk
You use meyy.info and its content at your own risk. The calculators, guides, and other content on the Site are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind — express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the calculator formulas, benchmark data, or other content on the Site are accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Any action you take based on the content of the Site is strictly at your own risk. We are not liable for any losses or damages in connection with the use of our content. You are solely responsible for any decision you make based on the Site's content, and you are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy and applicability of any calculator output or benchmark figure before acting on it.
If you do not agree to these limitations, do not use the Site.
